Several Limestone District School Board graduates have been honoured with various scholarships in recognition of their achievements. Here is a snapshot of some of those students acknowledged for their hard work and dedication.

Bayridge Secondary School graduate Emily Swaine was awarded both the National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT) Rising Star Award, and the Queen’s University Chancellor’ Scholarship. The NCWIT Rising Star Award is given to students who may be starting out in their pursuit and study of computing. Rising Stars embody the idea of aspirations and are encouraged to continue their exploration of the field. Emily was one of 53 recipients in Ontario. The Chancellor’s Scholarship, one of the university’s major admission awards, is valued at $36,000 and recognizes a student’s superior academic ability, creative and original thinking and proven leadership qualities. Emily was also honored with Limestone Student Achievers Award for demonstrating exemplary achievement in leadership, positive attitude, energy, school spirit and academic standing.

Sara McNamara, who attends Kingston Secondary School, was awarded the Queen's University Promise Scholars Award toward her studies in Arts. The Promise Award provides between $60,000-$100,000 to support a student’s tuition, books, supplies and residence and living allowances for all four years.

KSS graduates Namirah Quadir and Callum Diak, who both completed the International Baccalaureate program, are both planning to attend Harvard University with substantial financial support from Harvard. Namirah, who was also recognized with a Limestone Student Achievers Award, plans to study neuroscience with a minor in politics or engineering. Callum hopes to pursue humanities and political science studies.

Two students at Loyalist Collegiate & Vocational Institute received substantial scholarships. Liam Jugoon was awarded the Robert and Eva (Bertram) Cole Canadian Bursary valued at $15,000 per year up to $60,000 toward his studies in engineering at Queen's University. Yunny Kim received the$20,000 Joyce Family Bursary to use toward his political science studies at Queen's.
