Boundary Changes

Limestone Learning Foundation

On October 18, 2017, the Limestone District School Board (LDSB) granted approval for Board Staff to implement the Consultation Plan outlined in the Accommodation Report for Boundary Changes in Central Kingston.

The boundary changes primarily impact the Junior Kindergarten to Grade 6 English program students at Rideau Public School, the Grade 9 to 12 students who formerly attended Loyalist Collegiate & Vocational Institute (LCVI), Kingston Collegiate & Vocational Institute (KCVI) and Queen Elizabeth Collegiate & Vocational Institute (QECVI) and the Grade 7 and 8 students at Winston Churchill Public School.

Consideration of these boundary changes is made necessary due to:

  • Enrolment changes related to the French Immersion and English programs at Rideau Public School; and

  • The Board’s accommodation review decision regarding the Intermediate and Secondary Schools in central Kingston (June 19, 2013).

The Board held consultation meetings to consult with parents and guardians of the affecting students attending Central, Sydenham, Winston Churchill and Rideau public schools earlier this year. These meetings gave school parents and guardians the opportunity to participate and provide feedback on the proposed boundary changes. An opportunity for online feedback was also provided for those unable to attend the meeting.
